Jimmie Bratcher starts out playing the blues as a young man in the late
60’s and early 70’s.
At the age of 22 Jimmie became a Christian and put his guitar away for
nearly 20 years. Over time he ended up as an associate pastor of a
large church. Now after a self imposed retirement from the blues
Jimmie Bratcher is back playing the blues he loves so much. This time
it’s different, he is now Reverend Jimmie Bratcher and he is singing
about Jesus Christ and what God has done for us.

Jimmie Bratcher and the Monster my Strat

I told Reverend Jimmie Bratcher I was pleasantly surprised to come
across his music, Christian blues is something I never new existed.
Jimmie: The term Christian blues is a new term but the concept has been around
a long time in Gospel influence blues With people like Son House,
Blind Willy McTell, BB King and Rev.Gary Daves

Question: How do people react when you tell them what you do?
Jimmie: People sometimes in bars look surprised by what the songs are
about. After they hear that the words are loving and excepting of the
people and not condemning they loosen up.

Question : What artist do you think you draw your inspiration from?
Jimmie: Every where and every genre of music also in peoples expression
of life and their expression of their saver and Jesus. I Always liked
Eric Clapton, later on Steve Ray Vaughan. Inspired by people that are
passionate about what they do. Whether it’s music art or speaking or
preaching.

Tomorrow there will be more on Jimmie Bratcher, till then check out his
website and MySpace page. It’s not to late to get his wonderful
