I said to Rebecca: You have a nice looking video of “Still Be Down”
How did that come about?
Rebecca: Well, we have a very talented friend that is great with video
work and offered to hook us up with some time. The original idea was
to do something at this sculpture park in Queens. But we stumbled upon
this old factory. Mike, our guitar player peeked inside, and after
realizing it was abandoned… It was a great location thanks to the
burnt-out taxis, piles of car tires, and hundreds of pigeons flying
everywhere. We shot the video on Easter Sunday with one camera, a boom
box, and all natural lighting. It really worked out well.
Q: How does the song writing work out, the songs seem pretty intricate
for just one person?
Rebecca: They usually start with Mike coming up with some ideas on the
guitar, and then he’ll work on incorporating the bass and drums and
getting the basic song structure together. Meanwhile, I’ll be writing
lyrics and melody parts over the music. We all give feedback to each
other and usually we get the songs together in one rehearsal session.
Q: There is a photo of Bruce Willis on you MySpace page, what was the
reason for that?
Rebecca: Well, Mike and Harry were on tour in Europe playing with the
punk/hardcore band Breakdown. On the first day of tour, they were
introducing themselves to the other bands on tour, one being a German
hardcore band called Rykers. The first thing out of the bass player’s
mouth was, “You look like Bruce Willis,” and the name stuck with Harry
for the whole tour, and tours to come. So now we like to torture him by
putting the photo up on our myspace page.
Harry your looking good, Bruce Willis Blues BandTomorrow
and your band is better too.
I’ll have more of the interview with Rebecca.
Till then check out their MySpace page.
